Programme Overview

At Lavanz Film Academy the 1-Year Film program provides hands-on experience, and students create a number of their own original films, learning how to direct, write, shoot, produce, act and edit projects. In addition to the practical production training, students complete rigorous coursework, rounding out their skills in cinematic storytelling. The program culminates in a final film, where students can fully demonstrate their skills and talent.

Throughout the program, students can evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, helping them choose an educational or creative pathway that fits their ambitions and interests. Individuals interested in pursuing goals in filmmaking can also use our program to bolster their skills in video content, learn the industry standard software and technology, and learn the entire production process from start to finish. Upon graduation from the 1-Year Filmmaking Program, students will earn a college credit bearing Certificate. This certificate program is an accelerated, three semester program that provides students with over 1,000 hours of hands-on production experience

CURRICULUM

The curriculum for the 1-Year Filmmaking Program includes:

1. A balance of technical and creative coursework, with classes focused on Directing, Camera, Lighting, and Sound, Digital Editing, Directing Actors, Screenwriting, and more
2. Directing experience on a film sets, with additional experience working in various roles on classmates’ films
3. Guidance and mentorship from award-winning faculty who actively work in the film industry
4. Consistent access to the latest camera, sound, and lighting equipment
5. The ability to attend guest lectures with film industry leaders such as directors, actors, producers, cinematographers, and more

Tution Fees – N180,000 (Per Semester)
